Out of the top 100 I have seen:

The Wizard of Oz

E.T the Extra -Terrestrial

To Kill a Mockingbird

Snow White and the Seven Drawfs

The Sound of Music

The West Side Story

The Silence of the Lambs

Forrest Gump

Titanic

Toy Story

Out of all these movies I would have to say I enjoyed watching Forrest Gump the most. Forrest Gump is not only a loving story but it is absolutly hilarious. This moving is very touching and addicting. I think it is on the top 100 because of the choice of characters that fufilled the roles in the story. This moving is loving but yet funny at times, it keeps the audiance full attention on the screen switching up emotions threw out the movie like it does. Showing a real situation that can happen and making it into a story always makes a movie interesting and deserves to be on the top 100.

My all time favorite movie would have to be “August Rush” directed by Kirsten Sheridan. This movies is about an orphan who uses his gift of music to find his birth parents.  It was nominated for an Oscar, Saturn Award, Critics Choic Award, Golden Trailer, Grammies, Teen Choice Awards, and Young Artist Award. Out of those nominations it won the Saturn Award and Young Artist Award. This movie is very touching and loving. It has a very good story to it and will keep your full attention on the screen. This movie is known for moving hearts. I personally enjoy watching this movie over and over again and never get tired of it, thats why its my all time favorite movie.

My most liked movie would have to be “The Little Rascals” directed by Penelope Spheeris. This movie is about a bunch of school aged boys in a club who face life. While the club is about woman hating, one young boy is caught up in what he calls love with a neighborhood girl friend.  As they face their club burning down and their friend liking a girl they learn about friendship and teamwork. This movie won two awards, BMI Film Music Awards and Young Artist Award. This movie is very adorable, hilarious and very heart warming. I personally have liked this movie since I can remember. The way it keeps me smiling is why I would choose it to be my most liked movie.

response to obama September 30, 2009

I disagree with Obama. The school days are already long enough. Students already slack off and drop out cause of to much time is spent in school already. Students are involed in extracurricular activities and jobs after school that they really enjoy or even depend of for a further education level. Making the days longer and the summer shorter will just take away these priviliages and fun activities for students. This could cause more drop outs, depressed kids, and maybe even more misbehaving kids. So I totally disagree with Obama.

Weekly Goals. September 14, 2009

My weekly goals for myself this week are:

1. Find pictures from every folder to put on the Website.

2. Talk to all my assigned teachers and get as much information from them.

3. Update at least two teachers pages to the most of my ability.

Response to the Article. September 14, 2009

My response to this article is that I believe going to college is very important.  Getting a college education is not only good for you but it also gives you greater knowledge and more success.  Students that dont go to college tend to have less salary’s then students who went to college because they end up choosing different careers in the future.  Students that dont go to college tend to become more lazy because there use to just giving up.  There are other students who choose to go to academies become successful also because they stay in these academies and finish their degree and become police men or firefighters. So college is very important to at least attend for two years if you cant handle four or more.

My Thoughts on the DHS Website As Is… August 30, 2009

1. Format: The schools format is okay.  The font is a decent size but the color is way to bright and out there.  I recomand staying in the schools color, blue and white just making them less bright.  The font is a good size for all to see just needs to be lower case and not bold.

2. Homework Board: The school site doesnt have a homework board.  A homework board would be very useful to both students and parents for any missing assignments or make up work they need to keep up with.  Teachers could post any work or test they need to make up or were missing that previous week so parents can keep up with the work.

3. School Supply List: The site does not have a supply list.  A student supply list would be very useful for the beginning of the school year or for any up coming projects that are going to need a bunch of supplies.  Each teacher should have a supply list for each class they teach and what the students will need in their class.

4. Student Project Showcase: The site has something similar to a student project showcase.  I think this could be an optional thing.  It would be nice to know the achievers in the class and the hard work they put into it but I dont think its necessary if a teacher doesnt want a showcase on their personal page.

5. Parent Resources: The teachers dont have a site syllabus.  Many parents and some students would think this is necessary and very useful to them.  It would be nice if teachers could have at least a little list of some sort showing up coming assignments or projects that way they know a little head of time.

6. Master Calendar: The school has a calendar but it dont provide enough information that students or parents are looking for.  Someone needs to make sure the calendar is always updated with events, open houses, events the school is sponsering and other activities students can be a part of or watch.

7. Contact Information: The school is very updated on their contact information for all the faculty and staff.  We might want to make it an actual list instead of different sites but it is okay how it is.  Many parents find this useful.

8. Alumni Section: Our site does need an alumni section.  It would be nice to see what graduates from Danville High these days not only for the present or past students but for new students that are trying to see how successful people are that have graduated in from our school.

9. Pictures:  Our site has pictures but they are not updated.  It has pictures from past years not any that are present.  It would be cool if someone could keep the pictures updated and very interesting to show off our school.  They need to be from all activities to all clubs and just casual days at school.  It would be nice to have just a photo album of our school and the students and staff in it.

10. Online Registration: We do not have a registration online for anything.  Any online registration would be very useful and helpful to some parents that dont have time to make it to the actual date at school for it.  This way parents can register on their own time as long as it hits dead line.  This would be nice to have for any registration as in clubs, events, sponsering and even registrating a new student.

11. Online Store: The site does not have an online store but all students would more then likely love to have one.  This would give us a chance to get items to show our school spirit as in t-shirts, hoodies, back packs or maybe even cute little coffee cups.

12. Fundraising Tools: The school does not have a fundraising tool but it would be nice to have so parents or students can help raise money for the school and the teams inside of it.  Some people use fundraising as a hobby this would be something very useful to them.

Two Websites to Consider! August 29, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — candynerds @ 11:25 pm

-Lexington Catholic High School, Lexington KY

http://www.lexingtoncatholic.com/home.htm

This site is very plain but interesting.  It covers alot of information and is easy to read and fallow.  It has a lot of links for you to choose from and has very easy guidlines for you to find the information your looking for.  The only thing I would recomand for this site is more pictures and animation to it.

-Regis High School, New York NY

http://www.regis-nyc.org/?ID=35

This site is very eye catching and interesting.  This site keeps you occupied just looking at the home page.  It has many different pictures to view about the school and a lot of information about all its departments and faculty.  I cant think of anything they need to do to make this site any better.

Today teens do let the internet take over or control their lives, at least certain teens do.  If teens arnt active in their school or with others around them then yes they do have a tendency to be constantly on the computer to pass over time.  The internet is very addicting to teens in many different ways, for mainly social reasons.  A teen could be an outcast in their school but a social butterfly in their online life.  The internet will sometimes destract teens from doing homework or common house hold chores.  Now this is not stating teens are bad kids for being online so often but it does say something about the online world these days.  The internet can also be an access for doing better in school cause of the valuable information teens get off websites for projects, papers or maybe even a common worksheet given by their teachers.  Some teens use the internet for valuable reason and then some abuse it.
